What you need: Cheerleaders will need a black skirt, not denim material, and tennis shoes. Once colder weather approaches you may want black leggings, a long sleeved shirt underneath, or gloves and hat as necessary.
The League provides: Uniform t-shirts will be handed out before the first game (these are yours to keep). Pom poms will be distributed for games only and returned back to the coach each week.
Preschool/ Young 5/ Kindergarten
Flag teams are not decided until the end of August. Games are held at the high school on the practice football fields behind the stadium. Both age groups will cheer in the grassy space located in the middle of fields A and B, facing their coordinating age football team. Parents can view their child from the outside perimeters of the fields. Cheerleaders should arrive to games 20 minutes before start time to get stretched and warmed up with their coach. Please have hair out of the face and no jewelry or gum. Please walk your child to the middle of the field when dropping off and meet them back in the same spot when game time is done. Cheerleaders will not be released without an adult.
Week night evening practices will be held once a week lasting about an hour. Practices will be taught but he high school cheerleaders, jumps and proper movements. Stunting is not allowed at this age level. Practice times and dates will be announced in August once the teams are decided.
Flag football/ cheer and inclement weather: We do everything possible to NOT cancel flag football/cheer due to rain and wet conditions (rescheduling is challenging)…but the league is also very aware that our youngest players often do not have fun when they are cold and wet. If the weather is adverse, keep checking your email/league website/facebook for cancellation information just prior to the start time.
